About me
I originally qualified as a person-centred counsellor in 2007, and that core philosophy of empathy and respect remains at the heartbeat of my work. Over the years, my practice has naturally evolved to incorporate insights form various therapeutic modalities. I found that as I supported individuals through increasingly diverse mental health journeys, a more flexible, multi-dimensional approach allowed me to better meet the unique needs of each person I sit with, moving away from a 'one size fits all' model to something that fits better with me & feels much more responsive.
Throughout my years of practice, I have developed a particular focus on supporting individuals and families navigating the profound challenges of cancer diagnosis and terminal illness. I offer a steady compassionate space to process the complex emotions, fears, and life changes that these experiences bring. My passion for the work I do extends beyond one to one client work; I have extensive experience in developing and facilitating group work, and I have spent many years training and mentoring both qualified counsellors and those in training within the third-sector organisations.I believe that the quality of the relationship is the heart of effective therapy. Whether you are navigating a difficult life transition, feeling overwhelmed, or simply need a safe space to be heard, I am here to support you with compassion and without judgement. My approach is warm, practical, and always deeply rooted in professional ethics. .Outside of the therapy room, I am often found walking my rescue dog, or enjoying the quiet landscapes of the western isles of Scotland - places where I find my own sense of balance and perspective.

Can sessions be in person?
At this time I offer sessions online via MS Teams video calls or by telephone.
What age do you support?
I am able to offer counselling to adults aged 18+ in the UK.
How much is a session?
I offer an initial free 20-minute session either online or on the telephone. This gives us a chance to decide whether I'm the right person to support you at this time.
Ongoing sessions last for 50 minutes and are £60 payable on the day via bank transfer.
Are there any reductions in session costs?
I do not currently offer concessionary rates.

I am currently in the process of completing my clinical supervision training offering sessions to fellow practitioners who value a fresh, collaborative perspective. Supervision is more than a professional requirement; it should be a restorative space; a place to untangle the complexities of work while nurturing your own professional well-being.In our sessions, we will look at the felt sense of your client work through a clear ethical lens. I aim to provide a boundaried yet warm environment where you can:
* Reflect on the relational dynamics in the room.
* Navigate ethical dilemmas with confidence and clarity.
* Develop your internal supervisor to support your autonomy as a therapist.
Because I am in the final stages of my supervisor training, I offer a reduced rate for practitioners and students who are happy to work with a trainee supervisor. If you would like to find out more, please feel free to get in touch.

My Logo
I’m often asked why I chose a stack of sea urchins for my practice logo. Alongside my love of the western isles of Scotland, these shells reflect something deeper about how I work as an integrative counsellor:
Balance and integration: Much like the therapeutic process, these shells represent the art of finding balance. As an integrative therapist, I help you stack the different layers of your experiences – the smooth, the weathered, and the fragile – into something more stable and whole.Strength in vulnerability: - In the ocean, an urchin is known for its protective spines. Finding the shell beneath reminds us that when we begin to lower our defences, there is still something intricate, structured and quietly resilient within. The journey of discovery: - Just as these are treasures found along a rugged coastline, therapy can be a process of gently exploring your own life - noticing the small but meaningful insights that have been shaped over time.I hope my logo reflects the idea that even when things feel worn or uncertain, there is a natural resilience within you that we can work together to uncover.
